Jones' Turkey & Gravy Soda Is Coming Back After a Decade Away
Even if you've never had Jones Soda, you probably know the brand from their limited runs of far-out flavors: bacon, poutine, and even dirt. They've also released bizarre holiday flavors, including green bean casserole, and Christmas Ham. But according to Jones, one of their most popular odd varieties has been their Thanksgiving-themed Turkey & Gravy Soda — originally launched back in 2003, but not seen on shelves in over a decade. But now, savory soda lovers can rejoice: This Thanksgiving entrée in liquid form is returning to American shelves.
As one of the early buzzworthy flavors that helped bring Jones Soda into the public eye, the brand says they're bringing the strange variety back this fall in honor of their 25th anniversary. To make the re-release extra special, Jones says this latest limited-edition run will be just 35,000 bottles, all of which will be "individually numbered for collectability." Bottles are already available in Canada and will be sold south of the border starting next week.

"We've taken enough of a breather from this flavor, and we think this is the right time to bring it back," Mark Murray, Jones' CEO, and president, was quoted as saying. "There's a whole generation — an entire demographic of Gen Z and younger millennials — that's never tried it, but maybe just heard of it."
But what will it taste like when they do try it? Jones itself doesn't particularly give it the hard sell, calling it "more for a gag than for drinkability (which, truth to tell, is a challenge even for the most adventurous tasters)." And that's apparently after the company tweaked the recipe for this latest release. But according to Adweek, the changes weren't intended to make the soda taste better, but to make it taste more authentically like actual turkey and gravy!
"It all sounds absurd," Murray added, "but it's unique and different and funny, and it makes people remember who you are." Sure, but I also remember who Jack the Ripper is, and I definitely wouldn't want to hang out with him.
