Just yesterday Cadillac teased the existence of a high-performance V-Series variant of its wildly popular Escalade full-size SUV. Now, the company has released a handful of photos, as well as a video of the V-8-powered Caddy in action.

The video above, released by Cadillac on Friday, is our very first official look at the Escalade V without any camouflage, shading, or other lighting trickery. There's a unique fascia and a lovely set of gunmetal-painted multi-spoke wheels that shroud what look to be bigger brakes with red-painted calipers. We can also see a bunch of blacked-out trim and plenty of V badges along the exterior. There's also that dark cherry red paint, which we love.

Though it's clear from the video the 2023 Escalade V will have some kind of V-8, Cadillac is still mum on specs. In a short statement released alongside these photos, the company says the V designation is meant for vehicles that "encompass the peak of Cadillac performance, bold, distinguished design, and innovative technology." So that should give you some idea of what to expect.

We're expecting more information on the Escalade V in spring 2022. That's when Cadillac plans to release more pictures and a full spec sheet with things like horsepower, torque, and other important bits of info. Until then we'll just have to gawk at these pictures and wait.
