Four members of same family have died from Covid since meeting in Christmas bubble

(Victoria Jones/PA)Four members of the same family have died with coronavirus and another was left seriously ill after meeting up for Christmas.
Tracy Latham said her partner of 12 years Darren Fisher, his elderly parents and his uncle left isolation for a fleeting visit when the government relaxed social distancing rules to allow households in some areas to meet for one day.
According to the mother-of-three, from Derby, the family had been shielding for about nine months when Mr Fisher popped round to his parents to drop off presents for a couple of hours on Christmas Day, Derbyshire Live reports.
She believes this “quick flying visit” led to the family members contracting Covid-19 and they all died within the space of three weeks after falling ill.
Mr Fisher died in hospital on 11 January without knowing his parents had died just days earlier.
His uncle also passed away with the disease a few days later, while another uncle is still recovering.
His mother is thought to have been the only person with an underlying health condition.
Ms Latham, 50, had been due to marry Mr Fisher, 48, who helped raise her children, in July this year.
She told the newspaper prime minister Boris Johnson had “blood on his hands” for allowing people to gather together for Christmas and England’s national lockdown had come too late.
In a fundraising appeal set up to help raise money for Mr Fisher’s funeral, Ms Latham described her partner as the “kindest person I have ever known”.
“For those who knew Daz you would know he was always a giver and not a receiver,” she wrote.
“Daz was always loving life even when it was hard at times and always put a smile on faces no matter what time of the day it was.
“He was my heart and soul [and] the love of my life.”
