Darius Rucker Renovates a Historic Charleston Mansion in New TV Series

Darius Rucker's latest endeavor has nothing to do with music. In his new show on The Design Network, Rucker's Reno, the legendary crooner trades in his guitar for a hammer as he tackles a home renovation project of historic proportions.

"I'm a guy who likes stories and I can't wait to tell this one," Rucker, Southern Living's 2021 Person of the Year, says in a video promo for the new series.

The show promises an in-depth look at the process of renovating a historic home as well as a look at Charleston through the eyes of the beloved entertainer.

"Rucker's Reno, the newest program from The Design Network, follows three-time Grammy winner Darius Rucker as he revives a vacant city landmark in the heart of Charleston into a modern treasure for his family to enjoy," the official description reads. "With an eye for design and his innate love for his hometown of Charleston, Darius and his team tackle the mansion's restoration one room at a time, while also stopping by some of the city's finest establishments."

The show, which is sponsored by South Carolina Tourism, also highlights some of the top attractions in the area offers inside scoop from local chefs, entrepreneurs, and fishermen.

"It's always an honor when I get to showcase my hometown of Charleston to the world, and I'm thankful to The Design Network for such a great platform to do just that," Rucker said in a statement. "The team on this project was so talented and made it such a fun, creative process from start to finish. I can't wait for everyone to see the transformation!"

The six-part series from The Design Network is available to viewers now on Samsung TV Plus and will debut on other services 8/7 p.m. CT on May 30.
