Your Daily FoodScope for July 01, 2022

·4 min read

Do you often find yourself wondering what food to cook, how to cook it, and even that dreaded question—how much of it? It’s a daily struggle for all of us, but need not be with our food horoscope. Satisfaction is only a click away!

A frank and open discussion with a cubicle neighbor may be needed to clear up conflict-inducing annoyances. All it takes is a little give-and-take to avoid meltdowns of epic proportion. Your co-worker will agree to stop loudly crunching on mid-afternoon trail mix snacks if you cease and desist on heating up leftover shrimp gumbo and eating it at your desk.

Don't be too righteous when judging the dietary habits of friends and family today. Not everyone has your resolve and commitment, so cut them a little slack. Then make them a red leaf lettuce salad with grilled chicken strips and seasonal veggies. You'll make a stronger point through actions rather than words.

Only you can determine the outcome of certain life situations. Approach them with serious intent and success will be yours. But take a lackadaisical attitude, and you've failed before you've even begun. You know which camp you're in if you hear yourself saying you'll start that diet tomorrow just before polishing off a hot fudge sundae.

Prepare to be annoyed tonight when your social and personal lives unceremoniously collide. It'll be bad enough when friends drop by unannounced just as you're sitting down to the homemade chicken pot pies you've been dreaming about all day.

You don't always have to travel the world to find adventure; it's in your own backyard! Explore a little deeper and you'll find exotic boutiques, bookstores and eateries you never knew existed. But call it a day with chicken tandoori at your favorite Indian restaurant, because sometimes there really is no place like home.

Slow-moving people will hamper your need for speed today. So cool your jets -- putting the pedal to the metal will get you nowhere fast. A slower pace will show you what you've been missing, like a leisurely lunch with coworkers and a bowl of New England clam chowder so thick it'll take an hour to eat.

Your current work projects are flying so high they're about to go into orbit. So take advantage of this mellow, stress-free day by going for a stroll at lunch. The fresh air will invigorate you, and the tuna and onion pita wraps you take along will give you enough energy to keep right on walking.

The urge to buy impulsively can be overpowering, and you never know what you'll come home with. But that fondue set may not be a total waste of money -- it could add a whole new dimension to your weekends. Whether cheese or chocolate, who doesn't love a fondue party?

Today will be a happy day for you, so make it a happy one for everyone else. You'll be all about spreading the joy, and if that means making little macaroons and passing them out to co-workers, then that's what you should do. But keep the pistachio ones for yourself if that's what makes you happy.

Temper your idealism with a little realism as you come up with a new diet regimen today. So you know you'll have a hard time giving up your daily post-dinner chocolate kisses snack. A tiny indulgence will be okay, but those double cheeseburger and fries fast food lunches will have to go STAT!

Today will be a good one to make connections both personal and professional. Your natural gift of gab makes you fun to be around, but temper that if you go to lunch with people you just met. Eating with your mouth full won't be impressive. Eating with your mouth full of Pad Thai will be even less so.

You can always be counted on to do the right thing. But while you're famously known for turning your nose at fattening snacks like German chocolate cake or deep-fried jalapeno poppers, being so dedicated can get tiresome. So indulge a little today. One scoop of green tea ice cream won't kill you -- if you can get over the guilt.
