Move over, hot cocoa bombs, because there’s a new melting bomb that will get you through the cold months. For people who love soup but don’t want to spend all day making it, the Broth Bomb brand will let you make a seasoning-filled broth or chili without much effort on your end.

Broth Bomb launched a U.S. Kickstarter to fund the campaign in April 2019. Over 400 people backed the project and pledged nearly $16,000 to bring it to life. Now the fizzy seasoning mixes are available on Amazon in eight vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free, and reduced-sodium flavors. The bombs are handmade with quality herbs and spices, as described by the company, and are ideal for soups and stews.

  • Drops of Jupiter: Savory sage with a touch of sweetness and a pinch of black pepper

  • Drunken Dare: Vibrant basil doused in hot red pepper

  • Gesundheit: Ginger, turmeric, rosemary, and cloves

  • Ryeless Red Reuben: Fennel flavor from your old deli favorite

  • Scarborough Fair: A melody of pot pie-inspired herbs

  • Speckled Rain: A classic chili seasoned with mild peppers

  • Spiced Antiquity: Earthy, aromatic, and deeply spiced

  • Stone Broke Dharma: A hybrid of garam masala and a classic curry

Just one of the plant-based Broth Bombs makes about five to six hearty dinner portions of soup, stew, or chili. In addition to the spices, they’re made with different tenderized beans and legumes, including chickpeas, red beans, and pinto beans.

You can order the Broth Bombs on Amazon for $6.99 each or a set of all eight for $34.99 to try them all. They’re expected to ship in March 2021, so you better start planning what soups you’re going to be making.
