Hair loss is a big talking point right now, with some people in recovery from Covid-19 reporting dramatic hair shedding as one of the many side effects. While this can be a traumatising experience to deal with, the good news is, it's only temporary.

“Excessive hair shedding does not cause any permanent changes to the hair follicle,” reassures Ellie Coldham, a consultant trichologist at Philip Kingsley Trichological Clinic. “However, hair does grow slowly (approximately 1.25cm a month) so the results of re-growth will take some time to become obvious.”

This is also the case for hair loss caused by pregnancy (AKA postpartum hair loss), which tends to happen in the 6-months following birth due to falling estrogen levels.

American model and presenter Ashley Graham has been open and honest about her postpartum hair loss in the past. In fact, normalising beauty taboos is her thing. Like the time she posted a picture of her under-arm hair, and her broken front tooth, and her makeup-free, post-mask skin... hang on, could we LOVE this girl any more?!

Ashley's recent Insta post brought the conversation back to postpartum hair loss, when she shared a selfie of her regrowth progress, captioning the picture: "I may not be a bond girl but i can be a bond villain (postpartum baby hairs come through!!!)"

It's fair to say Ashley looked amazing, working those baby-hair, micro-fringe vibes with a happy and confident smile...

Followers rushed into her comments section to applaud the post:

"Lmaoooooooo U at least make it look good! I looked like a pre-pubescent choir child," said one, while another simply commented: "Yes to keeping it very real for the mamas out there 👏👏👏"

Agreed, thanks for constantly normalising women's supposed "imperfections," Ashley ❤️
