The book defines White Fragility as “the inability of white people to tolerate racial stress” which leads to becoming “defensive when confronted with racial inequality and injustice.”

It is also crucial that we start cultivating these learnings early on in life. Having open conversations with your children is an effective way to combat prejudiced notions. According to research from a Harvard study, “children as young as three years old, when exposed to racism and prejudice, tend to embrace and accept it, even though they might not understand the feelings.”
