Lions expect Jahmyr Gibbs to shoulder a larger load in 2024

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs had a rare rookie season in 2023, and the NFL team's general manager expects the former Alabama standout to get more chances to build on his first-season success in 2024. Last year, the Lions traded up to select Gibbs at No. 12 in the NFL Draft and not only ended up in the playoffs for the first time since 2016 but in the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1991. Detroit divided its backfield duties between Gibbs and David Montgomery.
