Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on May 27 in Madrid, the Spanish government confirmed, reported Reuters.

Zelenskyy is expected to sign a bilateral security cooperation agreement with Sánchez, following last year’s NATO joint declaration. He will also be traveling to Portugal.

Zelenskyy and Sánchez will hold a joint press conference at midday local time in Madrid.

Zelenskyy will then meet with King Felipe VI, the Royal Household confirmed.

Zelenskyy had originally planned to visit Spain on May 17 but canceled all foreign trips on May 15 as Russia ramped up its military activities in northern Kharkiv Oblast.
