Zayn Malik Is Reportedly Thinking About Proposing to Gigi Hadid

Summer of love is coming for everyone.

This year has been filled with landmark engagements in young Hollywood (Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande; Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin; Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra), and it looks like Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik might be the next ones to put a ring on it.

British tabloid The Daily Star is now speculating that the former One Direction-er is reportedly considering proposing to his supermodel girlfriend as a way to "to prove his love." Keep in mind, however, that until this comes from either star directly, these rumors are simply rumors — and neither Gigi nor Zayn owe us clarification either way until they feel good and ready to do so.

"He's head over heels in love and wants to prove to the world he's committed and their relationship is the real deal," a source told the paper. "Despite temporarily splitting for seven weeks earlier this year, Zayn is still considering proposing and has suggested a secret wedding with no guests."

However, the source added that, "After broaching the subject with Gigi he's conceded he will have to wait. Gigi is happy getting their relationship back on track but has made it clear they are not ready to get engaged just yet."

The couple first started dating in 2016, and took some time apart between March and April of 2018. Now that they're back on, things seem to be heating up quickly — though Zayn has been adamant about not putting a label on their relationship simply for the sake of appeasing others. "We're adults. We don't need to put a label on it, make it something for people's expectations," he said in an interview with GQ earlier this year.

Still, it's pretty clear that there's something relationship-y going on between them. They've been quietly flirting on social media, and last week Gigi was spotted wearing a nameplate necklace with Zayn's name on it.
