Young woman found stabbed to death in Los Angeles County home

A homicide investigation was underway Wednesday after a woman was found with fatal stab wounds in her Palmdale home.

Family members requested a welfare check in the 38000 block of 20th Street East around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday because the woman had not been seen for several days.

Arriving deputies forced entry into the home after seeing blood on the living room floor, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release.

A woman was found with fatal stab wounds at a home in Palmdale on April 30, 2024.

The victim, identified only as a Black woman between 25 and 30 years of age, was found unresponsive and suffering from apparent stab wounds.

“It’s unknown at this time exactly what transpired and what led to her death,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Michael Gomez said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and it was unclear exactly when she died.

The wounds did not appear to have been recently inflicted so the victim had probably been dead for several hours, Gomez said.
