World War II Army Veteran enjoys rodeo during Military Appreciation Night

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — It is Military Appreciation Night out at the San Angelo Rodeo.

Of the hundreds of people heading out to the fairgrounds on April 17, to enjoy the carnival and performance is a 99-year-old World War II Army Veteran who was in the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy during D-Day.

Army Veteran David Silva shared with Senora Scott that he was born in Terlingua and raised in Alpine. Silva was then drafted into the Army where he served for three years.

Throughout the years, people have continued to pour out their love and support for the veteran. Silva explained that everyone continues to pitch in and look after each other, making America what it is.

When asked what advice he has for people, Silva shared, “My advice it believe in that guy upstairs and do the best you can for your country.”
