Woman loses over $1K to Cash App scam

DORRANCE TOWNSHIP, LUZERN COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a reported scam involving Cash App.

According to PSP, on February 19, around 8:55 a.m., troopers say a victim was scammed out of around $1940.

Investigators say the victim was contacted regarding a reality TV show they had qualified for.

Woman loses $50,000 after online scam

PSP says the suspect told the victim they needed to send money through Cash App for cosmetic costs, so the victim sent the money and then lost contact with the suspect.

PSP says the investigation is ongoing.
