Woman found stabbed to death in bathtub in East Harlem: NYPD

EAST HARLEM, N.Y. (PIX11) — An arrest has been made in connection to the death of a woman who was found with multiple stab wounds on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

Candido Rodriguez, 51, of Manhattan, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree, police said.

Police conducted a wellness check on 33-year-old Melanie Woods after her family reported she missed a flight, sources told PIX11 News.

Woods was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her apartment on Second Avenue with puncture wounds to the left torso and a laceration to the neck, according to the NYPD.

Police said Rodriguez and Woods were in a relationship.
