Woman dies after crash near MD 200 ramp in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A woman died after a crash in Montgomery County that happened on Wednesday, May 8.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that officers responded to the westbound MD 200 ramp and Briggs Chaney Road around 12:45 a.m. for a crash that involved two cars.

Police believe that a Volkswagen was driving east on Briggs Chaney Road when someone driving a Honda who was exiting MD 200 onto the road hit it.

The passenger in the Volkswagen, 35-year-old Kiara Cheeks, was taken to a hospital. MCPD said that her injuries were originally thought to be non-life-threatening, but she later died in the hospital.

Police were still investigating the crash as of Monday, May 13. Anyone with any information is asked to call (240) 773-6620.
