Domestic dispute turns violent in Midtown Kroger: MPD

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a domestic dispute boiled over inside a Midtown grocery store Thursday with a man assaulting his girlfriend.

Officers were called to the Kroger in the 1700 block of Union Avenue just before 7 p.m. after the victim was punched in the face.

According to at least one customer, it happened in the meat department, and there was blood all over the floor.

“I just walked out without my groceries,” said the shopper.

The victim said an argument over a message she sent to a mutual friend turned physical, and her boyfriend hit her. She told police they have a history of domestic violence.

Police said the suspect ran out of the store. The victim was transported to the hospital but is expected to be okay.

WREG contacted Kroger about the incident but is still awaiting a response.
