WINONA, Texas (KETK) – The Winona ISD board unanimously voted to appoint Kenneth Cook as the athletic director and head football coach on Thursday.

In February, Cook became the interim athletic director and head football coach, taking over for Keylon Kincade.

According to a release, Cook has served at Winona High School as defensive coordinator, head track coach and U.S. history instructor during the past seven years.

Now the Gilmer High School graduate will lead the Winona Wildcat Athletic program, and Cook said he is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the district.

“[Cook] emphasized his commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and integrity while striving for excellence in every aspect of the athletic program,” Winona ISD said.
