Windy to start Charlotte weekend, but sunshine and seasonal temperatures return

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — One final disturbance in the atmosphere brought yet another round of scattered showers and storms to the region on Friday. Some snow or graupel (snow pellets) could be seen falling in the mountains! It stayed windy, too.

The showers and storms will be tapering off and moving out tonight, but the wind will continue to be pretty gusty at times, especially in the mountains. Saturday will still involve gusts up around 40 mph in the mountains, so keep those loose items indoors until Sunday!

Besides the wind on Saturday, the weekend will be beautiful! We’ll see lots of sun, with just a few scattered clouds moving through on Sunday. Expect chilly mornings in the 40s, but warmer afternoons. Sunday’s highs will reach the low 80s!

Next week stays on the warm side with a stretch of 80s lasting through the end of the week. Another couple of systems could bring the return of shower and storm chances mid-late week.

Tonight: Clearing and breezy. Low 47.

Saturday: Sunny and breezy. High 72.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. 46/82.
