Willows woman stabbed in the chest, police say

A suspect in the stabbing of a Willows woman has landed a 20-year-old man behind bars on felony charges.

Upon receiving a 911 call at 2:49 a.m., May 16 concerning a stabbing on Vine Street in Willows, Glenn County sheriff’s deputies arrived to find a 20-year-old woman with a single stab wound to the chest, reported the sheriff’s office.

Emergency personnel treated the alleged victim on scene before she was transported by ambulance to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. At the hospital the woman was treated for major injuries, deputies said.

During the initial investigation, sheriff’s deputies identified two possible suspects, a man and a woman.

Within hours of the reported stabbing, deputies had made contact with and questioned each party.

The initial investigation resulted in two alleged suspects. Deputies made contact with both alleged suspects Thursday morning.

A suspect who was located on Colusa Street in Willows, 20-year-old Ramiro Robles Gomez, of Arbuckle was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Glenn County Jail on $150,000 bail and suspicion of attempted murder.

The sheriff’s office said this is an ongoing investigation.
