Wildlife West Nature Park announces passing of Koshari the black bear
EDGEWOOD, N.M. (KRQE) – Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood announced that its beloved black bear Koshari passed away.
Koshari was over 20 years old and was an educational ambassador at the zoo. He arrived at the park in August 2005 when he was captured by New Mexico Game and Fish officers at Navajo Lake in northern New Mexico.

“Koshari will be greatly missed by so many. Wildlife West would like to thank the many supporters who helped to feed Koshari over the years along with the other 20 species of native wildlife at the park,” the zoo said in a news release.
The park said that Koshari’s health was declining, and he was surrounded by park volunteers, Roger Alink, the park founder, and veterinary staff as they gave their final farewell.
