Wild turkey spotted in Midtown

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – We’re still a few months away from Thanksgiving, but that didn’t stop a turkey from walking the streets of Manhattan on Wednesday.

The animal, affectionately named Astoria by bird watchers, was seen roaming around 49th Street and Madison Avenue in Midtown. It was reported to have first been seen in Long Island City a week ago.

The turkey found a place to rest in the Saks Fifth Avenue awning, according to Manhattan Bird Alert.
