‘Whole home is engulfed’: Blaze causes roof collapse at St. Pete home

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A St. Petersburg home went up in flames on Thursday morning, causing a roof collapse.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the home, located in the 1700 block of 19th Street South, around 11 a.m. after receiving reports that a “whole home is engulfed” in flames.

Crews said the home had a roof collapse, which kept some areas of the home, hot.

All occupants inside were able to safely get out of the home, with no reported injuries. The fire did not spread to any neighboring homes.

According to fire rescue, the situation is under control but is still an active scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
