Where to Get Free Coffee and Deals on National Coffee Day
In our hearts, everyday is National Coffee Day. But officially, that annual holiday is this Saturday, September 29, and all of our favorite coffee shops are getting in the giving spirit to celebrate the special day. We're talking freebies and deals, and not just in the form of our favorite brewed beverage. Throughout the country, companies are treating customers to free and discounted java and treats. Ready to get caffeinated? Here's a list of coffee establishments participating this year:
Dunkin' Donuts: This year, Dunkin' may be celebrating a twofer: National Coffee Day and their new name. And the deal is a double, too: On Saturday, buy one hot coffee and get a second of equal or lesser value for free.
Krispy Kreme: Everyone's favorite guilty pleasure is going all out for National Coffee Day. Not only is Krispy Kreme offering a free coffee of any size at participating locations through Saturday, but they're also giving away a free doughnut with each brew to rewards members on the 29th specifically. The company is also introducing a brand new Coffee Glazed Doughnut and Original Glazed Coffee (an Original Glazed Doughnut in a cup).
Caribou Coffee and Einstein Bros. Bagels:: Bagels and coffee is pretty much the best breakfast. Caribou Coffee and Einstein Bros. Bagels recognize that — so they're offering a free cup of brewed coffee of any size with the purchase of a food item (including bagels, sandwiches, and bakery items). Of course, the Einstein deal only stands at locations that carry Caribou coffee.
Barnes & Noble: Never neglect a peaceful read at your local Barnes & Noble, where this Saturday they'll be offering a free cup of tall, hot, or iced coffee. It's the perfect excuse to linger in a cozy bookstore spot even longer.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Yes, the pumpkin lattes are all the rage at the Coffee Bean, but you can also get a a free regular (16-ounce) brewed coffee (hot or iced) with the purchase of a $2 food or bakery item at participating locations. It's a win-win.
Cumberland Farms: Cumby's, as the locals call it, is an East Coast eatery where you can get good coffee and load up your gas tank, too. For National Coffee Day, they're offering a free Farmhouse Blend or Bold coffee (hot or cold) in any size drink. Just text FREECOFFEE to 64827 to receive a mobile coupon in advance.
Illy: Our favorite Italian espresso brand is offering a complimentary can of coffee with the purchase of four cans using the code 5FOR4 (valid through 9 A.M. on Sunday, September 30) at illy.com. Yes, please.

Sheetz: At this gas and sip joint, customers will offered a free cold brew at any of Sheetz's 500 locations in the Midwest and East Coast.
Peet's: Take a deserving friend to Peet's and pay it forward by giving them a free coffee or espresso when you purchase our own. (Or just save the second for yourself if you need extra fuel that day — we've all been there.)
Nespresso: How many times have you seen George Clooney in the Nespresso commercial and thought, "Why can't I have that life?" Well, this Saturday and Sunday you can get (kind of) close to it by experiencing a free demonstration of those cool espresso machines at one of the company's boutique stores. After the demo, you’ll receive a free special Nespresso Privé commemorative box that includes 50 Nespresso Privé espresso capsules. You just have to register in advance.
