Westminster kicks off ‘Pothole Palooza’ with goal of filling thousands of potholes

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (KDVR) — The city of Westminster kicked off its first annual “Pothole Palooza” on Monday morning. The city’s goal is to fill thousands of potholes on city-owned and maintained roads.

City employees said they will be filling an estimated 3,000 potholes between April 8 and 11, with the first pothole originally anticipated to be filled by City Manager Mark Freitag.

Freitag wasn’t able to make the event at the corner of 95th Avenue and Saulsbury Court on Monday so, FOX31’s Courtney Fromm was asked to fill the hole instead.

The marathon week of filling potholes is to spruce up the streets of Westminster. Several residents suggested locations where potholes needed to be filled.

The city expects the whole project to cost around $30,000.

According to the city’s website, everyone who submits a pothole for repair will be entered into a raffle to win a personalized street sign prize.
