West Virginia Division of Highways accepts bids for various projects across the state

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Multiple construction projects were part of a West Virginia Division of Highways bid letting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

The projects are in multiple counties across West Virginia, and multiple factors are considered before bids are accepted.

Projects that were included in the bid letting on April 9 include:

  • Mercer County: US 460 rehabilitation and paving from Goodwins Chapel to VA state line

  • Wyoming County: WV 97 paving from Saulsville to Maben

  • Wyoming County: Wilcox Memorial Bridge renovation project, WV 54

  • Fayette County: Alloy manufacturing plant entrance flasher, US 60

  • Fayette County: Pax Avenue bridges cleaning and painting

  • Nicholas County: Bridgeview Drive intersection traffic light

  • Kanawha County: Academy Drive Overpass Bridge renovation, Interstate 64

  • Kanawha County: Finney Branch Overpass Bridge, renovation, Interstate 64

  • Kanawha County: Larry Conley Memorial Bridge rehabilitation project, US 60

  • Braxton County: Burnsville overpass bridges renovation, Interstate 79

  • Marion County: Hutchinson Truss Bridge replacement

  • Randolph County: Gandy Creek Road paving

  • Preston County: Coopers Rock W-Beam Bridge deck overlay

The bid letting system is used when the WVDOH has projects that need handled by a contractor, and contractors can review and bid on projects at scheduled big lettings.
