These were Katy Perry’s hair muses for her big chop
Although she may be our favorite chameleon, even Katy Perry has to draw hairspiration from somewhere. And although she’s a veteran at rocking nearly every and any hair cut or color, a pixie cut is still relatively uncharted territory for the singer. At last night’s iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles, Katy debuted her post-breakup locks, proving our point that she can pull off anything. With both sides shaved short, and longer platinum hair on top, Katy’s hair is bold. The singer did admit, however, that she was inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s choppy do and we can’t deny we see it.
While Katy’s hair ranges in the longer, floppier side of a classic pixie cut, Scarlett rocks a shorter, choppier version. Both women’s natural, medium brown hair plays into the bleached style, adding depth and some boldness. We already know Katy has good taste, so we’re not surprised.
Katy also posted a photo of Michelle Williams on Instagram before she went for the pixie plunge.
Michelle’s shaggy platinum pixie would be the perfect place for Katy to draw inspiration, so again, no surprise there. Although both Scarlett and Michelle are beautiful women, they’re also powerful, talented actresses so we love that Katy turned to them for inspiration. Girl power forever.
