Wendy’s manager accused of stealing credit card from restaurant

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A now former manager at Wendy’s was in jail after being accused of stealing someone’s debit card from the restaurant in Northeast Memphis earlier this month.

Jeremiah Beck, 24, is charged with four counts of illegal possession of a credit/debit card, four counts of identity theft, and theft of property $1,000 or less.

On March 9, the victim filed a police report stating his Chime debit card was stolen the day before from Wendy’s at 2099 Whitten Road.

The victim stated that his card was used at a Petco on Germantown Parkway in Cordova, an Amoco gas station, and an I-40 Liquor Store on Macon Road in Northeast Memphis.

A total of $160.68 was taken from the four transactions that were made, according to reports.

Investigators say they reviewed the surveillance video and photos showing Wendy’s manager Jeremiah Beck as the person responsible for using the debit card.

On March 21, officers say they went to Wendy’s on Whitten Road where Beck was then taken into custody. Beck later gave a statement to police admitting to fraudulently using the credit card.

Beck has since been terminated, according to Wen Tennessee, LLC, the franchise that owns and operates Wendy’s.

He posted a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.

WREG reached out to Wendy’s for comment and they released the following statement,

“We expect all employees to maintain high standards of ethics, including maintaining the privacy of our customers. As such, we are deeply disappointed in the actions of our former employee, who has since been terminated. We take these matters very seriously, and we will continue to work with local law enforcement on their investigation.”
