Wellsboro to host PennDOT job fair

WELLSBORO, Pa. (WETM) – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be hosting a job fair for Tioga County residents.

PennDOT staff will be at the Tioga County Maintenance Office, located at 6 Berwart St. in Wellsboro, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 for the job fair. Staff will be discussing current and future openings within the commonwealth for CDL operators as well as open summer positions within the department.

Current openings include diesel and construction equipment mechanic trainee, diesel and construction equipment mechanic, transportation equipment operator A, summer highway maintenance workers, and DOT summer students.

Applicants interested in the diesel and construction equipment mechanic trainee openings must have a valid CDL permit on their first day of employment. Transportation equipment operator A and diesel mechanic positions must have a valid Pennsylvania (PA) CDL Class A or B with the air brake and manual transmission restrictions removed. These positions also require a current medical examiner certificate.

Applications are available via the employment website, and interested applicants can fill out the forms onsite with provided laptops and staff to help navigate the site.
