LOCAL FORECAST AHEAD:

Today will bring another round of severe weather to Central Illinois from 12p-8p. Wind, hail and even a few tornadoes are on tap.

FutureTrack shows a line of storms pushing east mainly south of I-72. These storms could bring wind, hail and a tornado threat with them. We’ve got to watch all of that very closely.

Here’s the latest severe weather risk from the Storm Prediction Center, including the risk for tornadoes, large hail and wind gusts.

With the threat for severe weather, now is a great time to learn more about WeatherCall. It’s a phone call service that for just $12 a year, we will call you for weather alerts at your home location.

After the storms depart, the weather will calm down a bit for the weekend. We’ll see some cooler air move through the region and bring highs down to the 50s. A widespread frost is possible Sunday morning and again Monday morning. We’ll keep an eye on that.
