Water main break shuts down portions of Central in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Crews from the City of Wichita worked to fix a water main break along a busy city street on Thursday.

The break was along Central Avenue between I-135 and Hillside Ave. Water services for homes and businesses between I-135 and Hillside and 3rd Street and Elm Street were affected.

Some traffic was diverted to the turn lanes due to high water over the road.

In addition to the break on Central, crews have also been working on a water main on Madison Avenue between Harry and Mount Vernon, just east of the Canal Route in southeast Wichita.
