Water main break floods Orangevale roadway

(FOX40.COM) — A large water main break in Orangevale has forced a closure of Pershing Avenue between Chestnut and Filbert Avenues.

The break was detected around 6:12 a.m. and crews with the Sacramento County Department of Transportation have begun working on the roadway damage and debris.

For nearly an hour, a large amount of water rushed to street level and flooded a portion of the Chestnut and Pershing intersection.

The roadway will likely remain closed for the remainder of the day, but nearby Pershing Elementary School is not affected by the closure.
