Water service limited in White Plains after downtown water main break

Water service is out in parts of White Plains after a water main broke on the intersection of Fisher Avenue and Bank Street on Wednesday afternoon.

The City of White Plains released a statement on its website at around 11 a.m. informing residents that their homes may not receive water or brown water may come out of faucets throughout the city due to the incident.

The City of White Plains said if residents notice their water is brown, they should run the tap until clean and clear water comes out.

Roads are closed around the area of the break as the Department of Public Safety works to fix the issue.
