Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to make an announcement Tuesday afternoon about his pick for vice president, ending weeks of speculation over his running mate amid his long-shot independent bid.

Kennedy is set to make his announcement at 2 p.m. EDT in Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts in Oakland, Calif. Names recently floated as potential running mates include New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura and lawyer and investor Nicole Shanahan.

Kennedy’s running mate decision is also likely to ease questions around ballot access in states where he may need to list a running mate in order for qualify on the ballot.
