SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Nik Wallenda, a daredevil out of Sarasota, walked the wire on Good Friday.

SNN said the walk took place at Payne Park, located at 2010 Adams Lane, where thousands of people gathered to watch Wallenda, who dedicated his walk to Jesus Christ.

“My dedication to my lord and savior is so important to me,” Wallenda said at the event. “With him, I can do nothing I can do. For those who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, I don’t know how you make it through life.”

Good Friday in Payne Park was a festival held by First Sarasota Church in which, along with watching the daredevils tightrope walk, visitors got to enjoy food and Easter festivities.
