Fly Me to the Moon is landing in cinemas this July, and we now have the first trailer to enjoy for the new rom-com.
The movie, originally titled Project Artemis, is the latest Apple Original movie, following recent releases Argylle, Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon, and is set against the backdrop of the 1960s space race.
It sees Scarlett Johansson play marketing guru Kelly Jones whose job it is to fix NASA's public image, only to add more stress to NASA launch director Cole Davis's (Channing Tatum) already-difficult task.
And that's before she's asked to stage a fake moon landing as a back-up to the Apollo 11 moon landing just in case.
Fly Me to the Moon will debut exclusively in cinemas before streaming worldwide on Apple TV+ at a later date. It will be released in UK and US cinemas on July 12 through Sony.
Originally, the movie was going to be directed by Jason Bateman and it was going to be a reunion for Johansson and her MCU co-star Chris Evans. But when Bateman dropped out, the delays led to Evans having to exit the movie due to scheduling conflicts.
Greg Berlanti – who has worked on the likes of the Arrowverse, Riverdale and Love, Simon – stepped in as director, with Tatum joining in place of Evans.
The movie also stars Community's Jim Rash, Woody Harrelson, Ray Romano, Colin Woodell, Donald Elise Watkins, Anna Garcia, Nick Dillenburg and Christian Zuber.
Fly Me to the Moon will be hoping for better success at the box office than Apple's other 2024 release, Argylle.
Released in February, the spy movie failed to hit $100 million worldwide, despite an all-star cast including Henry Cavill. It also ended up being Matthew Vaughn's worst-reviewed movie to date as a director.
It was confirmed recently that Argylle will arrive on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 12 when it will be available to watch for all subscribers.
Fly Me to the Moon is released in cinemas on July 12. It will stream globally on Apple TV+ at a later date.
