WATCH: Fire burns home on W Avenue Z, naked man found hiding in shed

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The morning of May 24 saw first responders arrive at W. Avenue Z to douse a home that had caught on fire.

The home, located at the corner of W. Avenue Z and Monterrey Street, near South Bryant Boulevard, was surrounded by multiple fire engines and ambulances as crews from the San Angelo Fire Department and San Angelo Police Department worked to address the situation. A reporter at the scene stated that the home had been successfully extinguished but was severely damaged by the flames.

According to an eyewitness account gathered at the scene, the home was allegedly set ablaze by an individual inside the building. The witness claims that the man had hidden in the back shed of a property, where he was found naked and taken into custody by law enforcement while wrapped in a sheet. SAPD reported that the man was detained on the scene.

A Concho Valley Homepage reporter at the scene reported hearing an unknown individual say “he’s alive.” The reporter then saw a man walk away from the back of the property wearing a sheet, surrounded by authorities on the scene.
