Watch Drivers Perform Ridiculous Maneuver To Protect Parking Space

City parking is already a nightmare at the best of times.

Drivers are impatient and spaces are few, particularly at this time of year when many are coming into town for festive shopping.

But think yourself lucky if you’ve never had to deal with drivers like these.

The above video, filmed on a dash cam, shows two drivers going to extreme lengths to stop someone taking a space.

Aleksandr, 26, was waiting patiently alongside a line of parked vehicles on Tillary Street in Brooklyn, New York, on December 8.

As the video shows, a red Nissan Pathfinder then pulls in front of his car.

You can hear the driver of a parked blue Mazda asking Aleksandr to move his car back.

He refuses saying he has been waiting politely for the space. But instead he is told: “This is family, I’m giving her my spot.”

The ‘family’ then pull off a ridiculous manoeuvre to ensure that they are able to nab the spot.

With his car pinned in, he can only sit and watch – and, because of his dash cam, capture the madness.

Aleksandr, he works in IT at New York University, said: “I just didn’t know what do – I tried to be as respectful as possible while standing my ground.

“My initial reaction was to just stay in the same place and wait it out.

"Certainly I didn’t expect the Mazda driver to go on the sidewalk, and do all the dangerous manoeuvres to block me out.

"There was no remorse or any acknowledgement from either driver.

"After the video stopped, she hopped in Mazda and drove off with the guy.”

He added: “The next morning I was waiting for parking again, and the same Mazda driver came by, smiled at me, dropped his bag off in the car and walked away.”

Aleksandr added that the routine appeared to be rehearsed. Judging from the above, it’s difficult to argue with that.
