Warm and breezy conditions through the weekend, rain increasing next week

Warm temperatures are expected this afternoon with readings in the mid-80s under partly sunny skies. South winds will increase as low pressure moves north of the area. South winds will be in the 6-14 mph range.

The same forecast will be in place through Friday and Saturday, although south winds will increase tomorrow, getting into the 10-20 mph range. The main jet stream continues to be well to our north, so a lack of meteorological drivers will keep the weather forecast persistent.

It isn’t until early next week we see a slight change in the upper-level pattern. A trough will move close enough to the area to drive a weak front into the state. This upper-level energy, along with the weak surface front, will be enough to produce a few showers and storms across the area. Rain chances increase to 30-50% for both Monday and Tuesday of next week.
