War memorial dedication at courthouse is Sunday

Apr. 16—A war memorial honoring the memory of those who served in the Spanish-American War from April to August of 1898 will be dedicated at the site of other war statues and memorials at the Vigo County Courthouse Sunday at 1 p.m.

Retired former Terre Haute police chief George Ralston said he asked Farnsworth Terre Haute Monument to create the memorial, telling the business that he would foot the bill for its construction.

However, the company opted to donate the stone to the display outside the courthouse.
