Wanted Jamestown man accused of throwing garbage can at officer

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Police say a Jamestown man with an outstanding felony arrest warrant is facing multiple charges after attempting to flee from Jamestown officers Monday morning.

Alvin J. Jusino, 29, was observed walking on the sidewalk by police who recognized him as having an outstanding warrant. It was alleged that when they attempted to conduct a street check on him, he threw a “heavy duty garbage can” at an officer while fleeing the scene.

The officer suffered a laceration and was transported to UPMC for his injuries, Jamestown police said.

He was placed into custody and was found with a white powdery substance testing positive for fentanyl on his person, authorities said.

Along with his felony warrant, Jusino was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is currently being held pending arraignment.
