For those who thought the days of seeing math in school are behind them, it is still good to remember National Pi Day.
In math terms, pi is the circumference (the distance around the outside of the circle) divided by the diameter (the distance edge-to-edge of a circle when measured through the center). No matter the size of the circle, pi is always 3.14.
So why do we need to know this? National Pi Day is March 14, or 3.14.
It's a day that bakeries and eateries often have specials on different kinds of pies or celebrate their pies.
Now, that's fun to think about.
Here are places to celebrate this occasion in the greater Milwaukee area.

Special pies available at Batter & Mac in Menomonee Falls
For National Pi Day, Batter & Mac will have whole pies and slices available while supplies last. The flavors available are French silk, banana cream, apple, cherry and strawberry rhubarb.

In Mukwonago, The Elegant Farmer has a $3.14 discount on its mini apple pies (valued at $9.99) until March 14. Also, it has different pies that include caramel apple, blueberry apple, peachy apple and rhubarb apple pies.
