Walmart store in Fremont closing down

A Walmart store in Fremont is shutting down next month, the company announced. The decision to close Walmart at 40580 Albrae Street was a business decision based on low financial performance, a company spokesperson said. The store will officially close to the public on May 24. Walmart’s spokesperson said the company hopes that the store’s 156 employees will transfer to work at nearby locations in the Bay Area.
