Wake-Up Weather: string of conditional storms expected over the next few days

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024

Summary: Partly sunny skies clearing the way for a few isolated, strong to severe storms by later this evening that could generate gusty winds and large hail as the main threat. Today’s set-up is not likely for tornadic development. Not everyone in the big country is expected to see showers or storms. Heading into tomorrow we repeat this pattern but with a threat more on the western side of the big country. Luckily most of these storms lose their momentum by late this evening. Temperatures still remain warm and muggy. Our best chance for storms will be Thursday with a sharp dry-line and a cold front bringing in the second best chance at showers by Saturday. Temperatures remain into the 80’s as a stationary front stalls into early next week.

Today: Partly sunny with clouds decreasing and storms building by late evening. High Temperature: 87° Winds: SSW 15 G 25 MPH

Tonight: Partly cloudy with thunderstorms coming to a close as winds become a bit more tranquil. Low Temperature: 61° Winds: S 10-15 MPH
