HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — Wahlburgers in Huntsville says it will close its doors this month.

In a post on social media, the MidCity location of the chain announced it will be closing on April 13.

The burger chain was started by Executive Chef Paul Wahlberg along with his two brothers, actors Donnie and Mark Wahlberg.

The restaurant was originally announced as part of MidCity in 2018, and it opened its Huntsville location in December 2020.

The restaurant said it appreciates all the support it has received from customers over the years.

“We have cherished serving each and every one of you, from families celebrating milestones to friends gathering for a meal, and even those who simply stopped by for a quick bite and a friendly chat,” the restaurant’s post said. “Your patronage has been the lifeblood of our establishment, and we cannot thank you enough for choosing us as your dining destination.”

The restaurant also teased something new coming to its current location.

“While we bid farewell to this chapter, we are also filled with excitement for what lies ahead,” the restaurant said. “A new concept will soon breathe new life into this space, offering fresh experiences and flavors for you to discover and enjoy. We encourage you to keep an eye out for updates and announcements regarding this exciting development.”

In its post, the location said it hopes to see customers at this new venture.

An executive director for MidCity confirmed to News 19 on Friday that Dragon Alley, an Asian restaurant, will be going in where the Wahlburgers is located.
