Wadsworth teacher charged with having inappropriate contact with students: Police

WADSWORTH, Ohio (WJW) – A Wadsworth Middle School teacher accused of having inappropriate contact with female students was arrested on Thursday, according to police.

Robert Bodjanac, 46, of Wadsworth, is charged with three counts of sexual imposition.

The nearly monthlong investigation started on March 27. According to investigators, Wadsworth Middle School staff reached out to the school resource officer regarding allegations against Bodjanac, accused of having inappropriate contact with a middle school student.

The school district placed Bodjanac on administrative leave.

During the investigation, Wadsworth detectives also learned of alleged incidents involving two other students.

He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Wadsworth Municipal Court and was released on a $1,500 bond.

If convicted, Bodjanac could face up to 60 days in jail and a $250 fine for each count, according to Wadsworth police.

The school district released a statement that reads, in part:

“As noted in the press release, when we were made aware of the allegations against Mr. Bodjanac on March 27, 2024, we immediately contacted our school resource officer, who is a member of the Wadsworth Police Department. We also contacted the parent/guardian(s) of the students involved in the situation. Since March 27, we have worked closely with the Wadsworth Police Department as their investigation continues.  At this time, Mr. Bodjanac remains on administrative leave, which means he will not be on Wadsworth City School District property.  

“If your child would like to talk to a school counselor, please contact your child’s building principal(s) or school counselor.  

“As noted in the press release, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time.  

“I would like to thank the Wadsworth Police Department for its continued partnership with our school district. They work closely with us every day to prioritize student safety.”
