Volunteers invited to Memorial Day activities at Historic Union Cemetery

Historic Union Cemetery is inviting members of the public and youth groups to volunteer for Memorial Day activities at the location Friday through Tuesday.

Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, flags will need to be placed on several thousand veterans' gravesites around the memorial park, 730 Potomac Ave.

Volunteers are also welcome for the cemetery's Memorial Day event starting at 9 a.m. Then, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, flags must be retrieved from around the cemetery.
