Volunteers complete 39 projects on Orrville Area United Way Day of Caring

Day of Caring, a collaborative initiative between Orrville Area United Way and the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce, was an extraordinary morning of impact May 1. Over 260 volunteers representing 23 businesses and organizations came together to accomplish 39 projects.

Volunteers dedicated their time and effort to 15 nonprofit locations and completed two residential projects. This year's Day of Caring partnered with Sound the Alarm, a national program by the American Red Cross focused on home safety. Thanks to this collaboration, 45 smoke alarms were installed in 21 homes.

Eight restaurants contributed by offering discounts to volunteers sporting Day of Caring shirts.

Dedicated to promoting volunteerism and community improvement throughout Dalton, Marshallville and Orrville, Day of Caring left a positive impact on the lives of others, showcasing the power of community coming together for a common cause.
