Collins-Maxwell's Vivian Kahler came out on top in the Ames Tribune's latest Student of the Week vote.

Kahler received 10,440 votes, or 64.16% of the 16,271 votes to prevail over fellow nominees Katie Rouse and Sophie Chitty.

Kahler is a strong-willed, compassionate senior at Collins-Maxwell. She goes above and beyond in all her classes and is a great role model for her peers. She is kind to all and supportive of her classmates. Kahler is involved in drama, multiple sports, NHS, student council, and FCCLA. She balances all of her leadership duties, clubs, and school with a smile on her face. She is a great example for students of all ages to look up to.

The last Ames Tribune Student of the Week was Colo-NESCO's Jackson Wonders.

The other nominees for Student of the Week for March 29 were:

Katie Rouse, Colo-NESCO

Katie Rouse is a senior at Colo-NESCO High School who is actively engaged in her school and community. Rouse works hard in the classroom and out. She is currently enrolled in the DMACC Teacher Academy Program and is seeking a future teaching position.

Rouse is also the senior class president as well as student body president. She is involved in volleyball, basketball, track, softball, and flagline, as well as jazz band, drum major, FCCLA, student council, the school musical and the school play, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, mentoring, TAG, FFA, large group speech and individual speech. Rouse also serves as our student representative for Colo-NESCO's school board.

Sophie Chitty, Gilbert

Senior Sophie Chitty just closed out a busy winter as a leader at Gilbert High School. Chitty helped coordinate the Winter Formal as a leader of the FCCLA group. In addition, she is a boys' wrestling manager, helps at the Booster Club Tiger Den store, and holds a 3.94 GPA.
