Virginia ABC to hold online lotteries for Van Winkle whiskey
VIRGINIA (WJHL) — The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) will hold an online lottery for Van Winkle whiskey products in May and June.
Six products from the Van Winkle line will be available for purchase through the online lotteries.
“The whiskey, often dubbed the hardest-to-find spirit due to its low production, is offered by lottery to ensure equitable distribution,” Virginia ABC said in a release.
The lottery is open to individual Virginia residents 21 and older, plus active-duty military assigned to a permanent station in Virginia.

The following products will be available during the lotteries:
May 20-23 lottery
Old Rip Van Winkle Bourbon 10 Year (264 bottles available) $99.99
Van Winkle Special Reserve Bourbon 12 Year (1,008 bottles available) $109.99
Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13 Year (96 bottles available) $169.99
June 10-13 lottery
Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve Bourbon 15 Year (58 bottles available) $169.99
Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve Bourbon 20 Year (146 bottles available) $279.99
Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve Bourbon 23 Year (six bottles available) $399.99
Purchases will be completed online and an approved form of identification is required for pickup at a local Virginia ABC store.
